About San Diego Van

Recognition

Rich DeBolt received the Joyce Derrick Award at the Mayflower Annual Convention held in Orlando, Florida, November 15-19, 2005.  The Joyce Derrick Award is given annually to one individual in the Mayflower system who best represents the principles of quality, integrity and strength of character exemplified by Joyce. The award preserves her dedication to the moving industry and to her associates.

In addition to the attributes mentioned above, the winning individual possesses qualities that best mirror the guiding principles of our van line.

These include:

  • A passion for quality, which permeates the agent's organization.

  • A commitment to treating fellow agents as customers; a commitment that is
not just talk, but is backed by superior service rendered day after day.

  • A "customer first" approach to all dealings with our van operators and the
    moving public.

  • A reluctance to accept the status quo--a constant, aggressive focus on
    growth.

San Diego Van & Storage was recognized as a member of "The Million Dollar Club." This award honors the Van Line's top revenue producers who generate $1 million or more in annual linehaul revenue. San Diego Van was one of 12 agencies recognized at the $3 million level.

In September, 2005, San Diego Van donated the transportation of a vanload of relief supplies to Hurricane Katrina victims. The donations were collect by the "Build a Miracle" organization at St Gregory's Catholic Church in Scripps Ranch. This is the same organization who helped many victims of the Cedar Fire that burned so many homes in The Scripps Ranch area of San Diego in
2003.

San Diego Van transported over 1500 cartons or 28,000 pounds of relief supplies to an evacuation center in Marksville, Louisiana. The driver Bernard Jay, who has been with San Diego Van for over thirty years was kind enough to donate his time to transport the goods. San Diego van donated the equipment and the fuel to help make this all happen.
